What is STELLAR?

The STELLAR teachers are Ms. Lohr, Mrs. Messina, and Mrs. Sommers.

In STELLAR, students work with various technologies while engaging in enriching activities that build upon the content they are learning in their classrooms. Students participate in group STEM projects that encourage collaboration and creative problem solving. They are also exposed to literature of all genres, and participate in research projects using various resources.

Destiny is a valuable resource that is used in STELLAR and which can be accessed from home. Clicking on the 'home' tab will list educational websites and resources, as well as access to the Clever login (scroll down to 'websites'). Clicking on the 'catalog' tab will let you search for books in the Wilson library.

Below are some of the exciting robots we use in our STELLAR classes!

    Dash and Dot

Dash and Dot, provided to Wilson
    by the RVC Education Foundation,
    connect with the Blockly app,
    where students learn basic coding
    skills while watching the robots
    perform many actions!

     Cubelets, provided to Wilson
by the RVC Teacher Center, are
    magnetic robot blocks that introduce
    various robotic concepts. Students use
    logical thinking to determine the
functions of each Cubelet and to
    create robots that respond to
    various stimuli.

LEGO Robotics allow students to design and build robots.
They can follow steps or come up with their own original
