Dignity for All Students Act
As of July, 2012, New York State implemented the Dignity for All Students Act (DASA), which entitles all public school students to have an education free of discrimination and harassment.
The goal of DASA is to promote a positive school climate and culture, ensuring that our students are safe, supported and socially capable. Rockville Centre's motto for our DASA legislation is, "Be Part of the Change - If You See Something, Say Something."
As part of initiative, we are educating staff and students about appropriate and respectful behaviors. This will include pro-social curriculum infused throughout our school.
We are proud of our educational community. It is our hope that this legislation will further enhance the caring and helpful climate we have created.
